During 2005 members of the 10th held a fund raiser this
year to raise the monies necessary to replace a very old
and very weather-beaten marker of Lt. Col. John M.
Legett of the 10th Louisiana Infantry. Lt. Col. Legett
enlisted July 22, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA "Louisiana Rebels".
Legett's final resting place is in Hollywood Cemetery in
Richmond Virginia. The stone was replaced in December
2005 by the SOUTHERN SOLDIERS REMEMBRANCE FUND.
On September 16th 2006, members travelled to Richmond
for a re dedication ceremony.

During the past two years, the ACWHRS has been raising
funds to have new grave markers placed on the final
resting place of all members of the 10th La. In Hollywood
Cemetery in Richmond. Spearheaded by Donna Elliott,
there remain but a few to be completed. It is our hope
that soon all 28 markers will have been replaced. The
task of replacing the markers is being done with the
help of the Southern Soldiers Remembrance Fund and we
are grateful for their leadership in this important
matter. For a link to the markers, please click here.
